Sarana Tbk PT Multistrada Direction (MAS), a manufacturer ofautomobile tires Achilles intends to increase its portfolio carslight trucks and buses. Funds amounting to 185 million U.S.dollars has been allocated for the preparation and plant expansion.
Zein M Saleh, Senior Marketing Manager for MAS explained thatthe funds obtained from the banking syndicate last year used to increase production capacity from 22,000 to 30,000 units perday. "We hope the plant expansion is complete and effective start running next April 2012. This time also coincides with our entryinto the truck and bus tire products," explained Saleh to Kompas.com in Ciledug. yesterday.
In addition, the company is also in preparation of adding production capacity motorcycle tires (brand Corsa) from position16,000 units to 22,000 units per day. "For motorcycle tires are still testing, we hope to realiasai first half of next year," saidSaleh.
Currently, the Multistrada is one of the largest local tire manufacturers in Indonesia with the composition of the market(car tires) 80 percent of exports and 20 percent local. Formotorcycle tires almost entirely fill the local market. Total of 80export destinations of the world's Achilles among others, Asia,Middle East and America.
